How it works
Once a year, we do a costume drive and fundraiser. We like for the costumes to be some sort of super hero, or heroic figure, as the whole point is to help the kids who wear them feel strong and mighty. Dustin is the founder and driving force behind Healing Heroes Fund. Having started Healing Heroes Fund as a Freshman in high school, he was certainly younger than your average charity founder. But, he has always been very moved by children who battle severe illness and injury, and he felt compelled to try to help.
What we do
At Healing Heroes Fund, we have one very simple goal. We want to try to help children who are very ill to feel empowered and strong. Many of these children are literally battling for their lives, and we want to provide them with not only a means of momentary "escape" from their illness, but the feeling of being "invincible". Our hope is that the costumes we provide help kids keep a positive attitude during their treatment and recovery.
